ZEISS Planetarium Technology for Yaroslavl
Carl Zeiss has received an order to supply the technology for a new planetarium in Yaroslavl, Russia. The SKYMASTER ZKP 4 opto-mechanical projector and a powerdomeŽEDITION digital fulldome system from Carl Zeiss will be installed in the 12-meter dome in December 2010.

ZEISS Planetarium at the Wilhelm-Foerster Observatory reopens with powerdomeŽVELVET system
On 15 October 2010, the ZEISS Planetarium at the Wilhelm-Foerster Observatory in Berlin reopened with a powerdomeŽVELVET fulldome digital projection system from Carl Zeiss. The VELVET system complements the optical-mechanical Model IV star projector built by Carl Zeiss almost 50 years ago, which was completely restored by the manufacturer during the six-month renovation of the planetarium.

VELVET Projectors from Carl Zeiss for Heidelberg
Carl Zeiss landed an order for the installation of a fulldome powerdomeŽVELVET projection system in Heidelberg’s House of Astronomy that is scheduled to be opened in the fall of 2011. With VELVET, the House of Astronomy will receive the leading technology for the projection of digital fulldome images.

Carl Zeiss Projector for the World’s Largest Planetarium
The operators of the planetarium in the Japanese city of Nagoya visited Jena on 18 and 19 May to witness the factory acceptance testing of their new projector. Carl Zeiss is the supplier of the UNIVERSARIUM Model IX type projector for the world’s largest planetarium in the modernized Science Museum in Nagoya. The dome has a diameter of 35 meters and seats 350 spectators.

VELVET Projector in Bochum Enters Service
The Zeiss Planetarium in Bochum will reopen on May 5, 2010, following months of renovation and the installation of a VELVET projection system from Carl Zeiss. The digital system now enables full-dome displays, thus considerably increasing the attractiveness and variety of the program offering. | |
