Types of gratings
Carl Zeiss manufactures original gratings on the basis of holographic production technology, mechanically ruled gratings and replica gratings that are replicated on different substrates. For the manufacturers of spectrometers, mass production of plastic gratings is also playing an increasingly important role.

Testing
In-process testing is as important as the final inspection of the finished grating. As a rule, same of individual parameters are of particular importanc efor the performance of gratings. For this reason, the speci-fications stipulated für these individual parameters are subjected to an extremely accurate check for each grating to be delivered. A special test procedure can be agreed for critical parameters. To show that the parameters lie within the tolerances set, the test results are documented in the form of a test certificate which is completed by our quality assurance department.
