According to the results of an assessment by the metrology work group at Bosch, Carl Zeiss Industrielle Messtechnik GmbH is the worldwide, preferred supplier for Robert Bosch GmbH for tactile coordinate measuring machines. In particular, the potential of the measuring machine manufacturer and the results of working with Bosch play key roles. Peter Gaida, responsible for metrology in central procurement for machines and systems at Bosch, pointed out that the designation as a preferred supplier also includes mutual expectations. He sees the recognition and implementation of cost reduction potential as key points of the cooperation, enabling both companies to remain competitive. To meet future challenges, Bosch builds on partnerships with suppliers that "display above-average expertise and performance, which enable us to achieve these advances together." From the Bosch point of view, Carl Zeiss Industrielle Messtechnik fulfills the necessary requirements. The Robert Bosch GmbH is one of the Bridge Measuring Machine Division’s top customers. The company uses more than 150 coordinate measuring machines worldwide. They are used for process controls and quality assurance in the production of components such as combustion engines, brakes, ESP and ABS in the automobile industry, for example. Oberkochen, Germany-based Carl Zeiss also provides solutions for components required in mechanical engineering and in packaging technology.
