InnovMetric is proud to announce that Carl Zeiss (Industrial Metrology Division) has selected PolyWorks® as its preferred point cloud software to bundle with the ZEISS EagleEye® Navigator sensor system. Under the terms of the agree- ment, Carl Zeiss will openly market and bundle PolyWorks with the sales of its non-contact metrology systems in Europe. Both partners already enjoy an important market share in the automotive and aeronautic industries in their respective domain. The EagleEye Navigator is a laser sensor device mounted on ZEISS' Pro® Premium line of 6-axis horizontal-arm measuring machines to quickly and accurately collect thousands of data points of a scanned surface. These point clouds are then used to measure critical geometrical features of stamped and assembly components such as boreholes, edges, and sections. This technology eliminates the time-consuming process of utilizing sphere adapters and the inevitable inaccuracy thereof. The collection of dense point clouds also provides more information on the measured features, such as GD&T analysis and comparison to CAD techniques (deviation color map, cross-sections, comparison points, etc.) computed with the PolyWorks software suite.
