Carl Zeiss proudly presents the electronic vision testing instrument Polatest® E II, an enhanced, further development of its innovative testing instruments that provides eyecare professionals with a leading-edge product for perfect, complete distance refraction. To guarantee optimum binocular correction and excellent visual quality, the performance of the testing system is of paramount importance as it has a direct influence on the quality of refraction. Not only the number and diversity of the optotypes used are decisive, but also the conditions under which refraction is performed and the user-friendliness of the vision testing system. Polatest® E II combines modern computer technology with proven know-how. It has been developed as the successor to the successful Polatest® E and has been precisely tailored to the special requirements of customers. The resulting system features benefits that are plain to see during use: The dedicated software offers a large number and wide diversity of optotypes which can be presented in conditions resembling daylight and include optotypes for associated phoria measurement. Integrated marketing images additionally allow the demonstration of product properties that guarantee optimum vision, hence enhancing the patient consultation immediately following refraction. The tests are activated on a touch screen. The benefits of this type of operation are obvious: the required functions are simply and directly selected on the screen. An infrared remote control device is available as an alternative. In the new flat design, the system is made even more attractive by a larger test field and the smooth, bright front surface without fixation stimuli.
