Monochromator gratings have been optimized for assembling with fixed entrance split, grating vertex and exit slit.

In contrast to conventional concave gratings, the focus does not move out of the exit slit plane as the width increases. This is possible because of holographic correction which significantly improves definition. The benefit of the holographic design is evident from the simultaneous suppression of astigmatism in coma within the intended spectral range. | |
