The Astronomical Museum in Taipei sees itself as a bridge between science and society. Its aim is to make astronomy understandable to people. Under one of Asia's biggest projection domes, a ZEISS projector and an IMAX movie projector join to impart knowledge in a vivid and emotional way.
The history of the museum dates back to 1938. Supported by broad public interest, it has seen several extensions on different sites. An enlargement in 1993 resulted in the museum center of today, with comprehensive exhibits and activities centered around the dome theater. |
