Team ZEISS Microscopy has been awarded the 26th German Future Prize by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier for the development of ZEISS Lattice Lightsheet 7.

Lattice Lightsheet 7 enables sample-friendly 3D fluorescence microscopy of living cells over hours to several days in high resolution. The lightsheet illuminates only the specimen plane that is in the focus of the objective. Other areas of the specimen are not exposed to the extremely intense illumination radiation and therefore remain unaffected. Lattice technology makes the light sheet so thin that subcellular details are resolved.

The core task in developing the technology was to enable users in biomedical research to use standard cell culture vessels with coverslips for easy sample preparation and instrument operation. This goal required a complete redesign of the instrument and optical design with tilted beam paths.

In this webinar, we will introduce you to the instrument and the system's innovative detailed solutions that make sample-friendly imaging possible in the first place. After the live demonstration, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the technology and application. One of the award winners from the ZEISS development team will be available to answer your questions.
